Orono, Lagrange, Howland, Penobscot County, Maine 1923 To 1927 Store Ledger Book.
This is a original ledger book that came from a general store located near the towns of Orono, Lagrange, and Howland in Penobscot County, Maine. I do not know the name of the store or its exact location but some of the people listed in the ledger have addresses with their entries. The towns listed are Orono, Lagrange and Howland.
The ledger book is fantastic genealogy resource for this area of Maine. It contains 373 pages starting in July 1923 and ending in Aug 1927. The entries contain the names hundreds of
local people and list what they bought and how much they
paid for the goods" It's a fascinating glimpse into the
daily lives of our ancestors!
For a small fee I will do a lookup for your ancestor. For
each ancestor I find I will make a quality reproduction of his records on the
ledger page and send that to you. If he is in the ledger
book more than once I will send you every
instance of his name (and details) found in the book.
Please remember that these books are not indexed and the
small fee is non-refundable. You are paying this small cost
for my time spent reading through the books to find your
ancestor's name (and straining my eyes over some of the
1800s handwriting!)

Ancestors At Rest reminds you that when looking for death records for your family tree online to be careful when spelling interment. It's not intermet, internment, inturnment or internmet. Another common one is cemetery, not cemetary or cematary.
