Free Death Records in Wooster Cemetery Wooster Township, Wayne County, Ohio
This old photo of Wooster Cemetery was taken about 1900. Wooster Cemetery is located on Madison Ave. in Wooster Ohio. I beleve it was established about 1840. The land the cemetery is on at one time belonged to Delaware Indian Chief Beaver Hat, whose had his cabin and apple orchard there. The orchard was a gift from his friend, John Chapman, or Johnny Appleseed, who lived nearby. I beleve Martin Welker, (1819 - 1902) is in Wooster Cemetery Martin, a Representative from Ohio, was born in Knox County, Ohio, April 25, 1819. He was elected as a Republican to the Thirty-ninth, Fortieth, and Forty-first Congresses. He was appointed a United States judge for the northern district of Ohio by President Ulysses S. Grant in 1873 and served until 1889, when he retired. He died in Wooster, Ohio, on March 15, 1902. Lewis Philip Ohliger, (1843 - 1923) is also in Wooster. Lewis Philip Ohliger was born in Rheinpfalz, Bavaria, Germany, January 3, 1843. He immigrated to the United States in October 1854 with his parents and settled in Canton, Ohio, in 1857. He was elected as a Democrat to the Fifty-second Congress to fill the vacancy caused by the death of John G. Warwick and served from December 5, 1892, to March 3, 1893. He died in San Diego, Calif., January 9, 1923; interment in Wooster Cemetery, Wooster, Ohio.
